DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

SUMMARY:
Director of Marketing
This position is responsible for creating, developing and implementing the overall strategic marketing direction in order to meet corporate business and marketing objectives. Must have previous event marketing experience (ie festival, party, corporate event, chamber of commerce, city/county events, street fairs, trade shows, etc).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute annual marketing plan(s) which strategically impact core objectives. Research sales and traffic trends routinely and address major changes in market. Follow corporate policies and procedures for all programs/promotions. Implement all programs and events professionally and timely including fulfillment and execution. Measure overall impact of local programs on traffic and sales. Implement advertising campaign, upholding and maintaining the brand strategy. Negotiate promotional agreements and media added value. Maximize promotional dollars through trade-outs. Financial Accountability: Create an annual marketing plan and accurately budget income and expenses. Allocate marketing funds appropriately to support key goals and objectives. Maximize marketing dollars by analyzing ROI on major expenditures. Monitor monthly income and expense variances. Public and Community Relations: Develop and implement programs to establish and maintain favorable community and public relations to enhance the image and position within the community. Secure partnerships with key community organizations. Keep an up-to-date media contact list and build network of media contacts. Get all press materials out to the media in a timely fashion. Monitor all local press coverage.
Social Media: Ability to utilize social and digital media tools for tenant and center promotions. Keep informed and adapt to newly emerging technologies. Tourism (if necessary): Maintain awareness of tourism market. Maintain and enhance local travel industry relationships. Fulfillment of provided Inquiries/Leads

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, min five years of strong marketing, management, event or advertising experience in a related field. Event marketing experience required. Excellent interpersonal, communication, selling and negotiation skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others. Sound fiscal management and budgeting skills.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. Social media skills. Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings when necessary.
Strong team building.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Will include some regional travel to Southern California locations. Qualifications
BS/degree. Previous event and/or brand marketing and promotional experience, i.e., City/County/Chamber of Commerce/street fairs, festivals, corporate event marketing experience a plus.
