Position Overview: The Computer Programmer (CP) serves as the primary work force for engineering/developing software, application design and coding, and project maintenance/debugging. Programming is highly detailed work, and effective programming will include fluency in several programming languages.
The CP is responsible for refining ideas, solving logic, and translating the idea into organized program code. The CP may serve in rewriting code, debugging, upgrading, as well as testing programming code all while maintaining organized and detailed documentation. The CP maintains strong communication with every part of the development and IS team to ensure high visibility on risks, conflicts, as well as feasibility in terms of the software development.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participate as a member of development team or teams, potentially serving as primary on small development projects through the design, development and testing of new applications and tools.
• Develop independently; participate in code reviews and potentially lead code reviews, and provide mentoring and guidance as requested.
• Design, prepare and execute unit tests.
• Cultivate long-term relationships with teammates, clients, business partners, management and other business teams in different work environments
• Apply in-depth or broad technical knowledge to maintain one or more technology areas.
• Apply 3rd party technologies to complex software solutions.
• Independently implement end-user or enterprise solutions complexity or services.
• Provide application problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions.
• Troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•U. S. Citizen
•Must be able to pass agency background check
•Active Secret Clearance preferred
• B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar discipline (can be substituted with an additional five years’ experience in solid programming role)
• Minimum three years’ programming experience of enterprise applications to include object-oriented software design and implementation, algorithms and troubleshooting
• Experience developing, deploying and supporting Enterprise Applications in either .Net or Java
• Experience with SOLID techniques in Object Oriented design and implementation
• Experience building database components for RDBMS or NoSQL databases
• Experience with techniques in testing, troubleshooting and debugging software development components
• Experience with Web server architectures and Web services (REST and SOAP).
• Experience with Version Control in the software deployment process
• Knowledge of Agile software development lifecycles
• Experience working in teams to design, develop and review code.
• Strong Communicator (written and verbal skills)
• Able to perform 24/7 maintenance support
• Must be able to travel up to 10%
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
• Open to learning new skills, standards and methodologies
• Have a specific area on interest
• Experience with Javascript related development tools
• Leadership role in a few of the above Required experiences
• Experience training users or with customer support
• Experience with an IDE of choice
