Director of Talent Acquisition - Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition to join our BDSmktg family and successfully lead our internal Recruiting team in a high-volume, fast-paced agency environment. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will champion both the BDS brand and our clients' brands, partner with senior business leaders to assist in sourcing high quality talent for their teams, and develop innovative recruiting strategies that solve our clients' ever-evolving needs.
Responsibilities Include:
• Build and implement an innovative, company-wide recruiting strategy
o Define and develop a one-of-a-kind, unique recruiting strategy that sets BDS apart from our competitors and showcases our that we have the best talent in the industry.
o Operationalize strategies to emphasize national scale, speed, quality and diversity of hires; including new hiring strategies, process efficiency, client management and candidate satisfaction.
o Continue to innovate the agency's strategy for candidate sourcing by leveraging all available tactics, including social media, company website, job boards, employee referrals, in-market events and campaigns, recruiting tools and other agencies where appropriate.
o Pilot and implement tools and tactics that are creative and forward-thinking, plus push the envelope with new concepts and ideas to combat the current talent shortage.
• Develop strong and valuable partnerships and relationships through internal and external networking.
o Demonstrate leadership and advisory capabilities cross-functionally to achieve strategic and operational goals across all aspects of talent assessment, acquisition and on-boarding.
o Manage and influence complex partners and senior executive relationships to ensure overall business objectives are met and establish a trusted partner relationship.
o Promote and drive BDS proprietary recruiting programs, such as A-List, Evergreen Pipelining, White Glove and R2G nurturing.
• Lead and motivate a high-performing team, provide a vision to recruiting management, and support staff across the organization.
o Oversee the recruiting function for all positions for client accounts and support service teams. Grow a national team while improving the team's capabilities (across sourcing, attraction, assessment, selection, etc.) to deliver on the talent needs and priorities of a fast-moving and ever-changing agency business.
o Support the proposal and business development process to ensure our most innovative recruiting capabilities are featured and messaged to potential clients, including coming up with new ways to set ourselves apart from the competition.
• In partnership with the Senior Manager, identify and measure key metrics to gauge recruitment status, including cost-per-hire, hiring cycle time, quality of hire, turnover, competitive hiring measures, and forecasting while driving accountability.
o Leverage analytical and operational capabilities across strategy formulation, business planning, and implementation of key priorities for the talent needs of the business.
o Deliver hiring solutions that are on-time, on-target and on-budget.
o Develop and implement disruptive operating models, such as market / micro recruiting tactics, that align with future talent acquisition trends and business needs by market and industry.
• Additional tasks as required and assigned by senior management.
Required Experience:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Human Resources leadership positions, with an emphasis on high-volume, retail, customer service, and seasonal Recruiting.
• Experience with traditional recruiting principles and non-traditional grassroot efforts.
• High-Volume Recruiting experience required along with an understanding of the complexities of high-volume staffing environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Retail and/or Consumer electronics and staffing agency experience preferred
• A passion for technology, talent acquisition and recruiting - whether building an operating team or a recruiting team. Clear bias for action and results. Ability to inspire action and a results-mindset in others.
• Experience leading and managing national recruiting teams.
• Superb ability to consult, influence and manage clients. Ability to drive efforts and projects through relationships and a broad knowledge base.
• Ability to develop employees and maximize individual and team performance while maintaining a fun working environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data, understand trends, develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.
• Track record of solving complex problems, designing creative strategies, and delivering significant impact as a manager and a leader.
• Preferred location is Orange County, California, however willing to consider applicants in other states. Secondary preference to be provided to: Chicago, IL and Columbus, OH area candidates.
