Email Marketing Manager Full-time

The Email Marketing Manager is a critical new role in the Brand and Marketing Department at the national headquarters of ADL. This individual will be a key member of the Content Strategy and Delivery team, reporting to the Director of Marketing. Our department works closely with and supports the Communications Team, our 26 regional offices, Development, Leadership, Executive Office and Policy and Program groups (Law Enforcement, Civil Rights, Education, Government Relations, Advocacy and Community Engagement, Center on Extremism and Center for Technology and Society).

The Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for setting strategy, creating, implementing and conducting analysis for a multitude of email marketing campaigns for ADL including but not limited to:

Mid year and end of year fundraising campaigns
Announcements of new initiatives/programs
ADL events
Holiday communications
CEO updates
New storytelling initiatives
Support for regional email campaigns

The Email Marketing Manager’s initial critical role will be focused on agency-wide emails and newsletters:

Assessment/evaluation of all existing emails/newsletters across the agency (e.g., Brand Igniter, CTS, COE and regional office newsletters) regarding content, design, frequency, audience, etc.
Development of a 2018 strategic plan for emails/newsletters (including sunsetting/combining existing and introduction of new vehicles)
Implementation of 2018 email/newsletter strategic plan
Development of KPIs and regular reporting/analysis of all emails and newsletters

In doing so, he/she will partner with the team at CSC in developing best practices around existing and new email campaigns and newsletters.

She/he will also be responsible for the creation of the email component of new marketing templates/toolkits for our regional offices.

The selected candidate will bring relevant expertise in email marketing and Salesforce/Marketing Cloud to ensure that we can utilize our new CRM platform to its fullest potential, incorporating a test and learn approach.

The Email Marketing Manager will work in close partnership with the rest of the Content Strategy and Delivery team as well as the creative services and technology teams.

Overall responsibility for the creation and execution of the majority of agency’s email communications
Develop appropriate KPIs ; analyze program effectiveness, report results and make appropriate adjustments
Provide lead writing and/or editorial oversight on all email campaigns
Supervise assigned staff on work deliverables, timetables, and activities
Provide weekly team update on current and planned email campaigns
Keep abreast of and apply new developments/best practices in email marketing
Manage communications/meeting schedules and day-to-day activities with Brand and Marketing team members and internal clients to keep projects on track
Facilitate efficient and effective project completion
Potentially manage projects/collaborate with AOR and/or other vendors/consultants on longer-term, strategic initiatives
Track and manage budgets of assigned projects

The Email Marketing Manager will supervise a Senior Web Producer

Previous experience working with Salesforce/Marketing Cloud platforms
Must be a superb communicator and writer, who has demonstrated success in managing creative and compelling communication materials and can adapt his or her writing style to specific projects
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative attitude and sense of team work
Ability to work independently regarding decision-making, project initiation and completion
Strong attention to detail while also maintaining big picture
Comprehensive strategic thinking, analytical and rapid problem-solving skills
Self-motivated/driven to meet tight deadlines and achieve strong results
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, CRM databases, and HTML/CSS
Strong interest in the mission of ADL and unwavering commitment to ADL’s goals and values

Work Experience:
A minimum of 4-6 years experience in an email communications and marketing role

BA/BS or equivalent experience required. Prefer degree in a related field (e.g., Journalism/Marketing/Communications/Public Relations/Advertising)

Work Environment:

Additional hours required as necessary to manage workload.
