Parish Administrator Job Summary

Information about Faith Episcopal Church and the Position
Faith Church is located in the Sierra Foothills community of Cameron Park, CA about 30 minutes from Sacramento. Faith was a mission church of the Diocese from 1992 to 2000 and incorporated as a parish in 2001.

Under the supervision of the Rector, the Parish Administrator provides general office support to the parish, staff, congregation, vestry, and committees in order to support the ministries and mission of the church. The Parish Administrator maintains a warm, welcoming and orderly atmosphere for parishioners and others who call or visit the church.

The position is part-time 32 hours/week and the schedule will be determined in collaboration with the Rector. Compensation is hourly and includes medical and dental insurance benefits along with a pension plan.

Primary Skills Required
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact courteously, at all times, regardless of personal beliefs or preferences.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality with all information, both written and oral.
• A genuine commitment to working as a part of a team, including the following characteristics: flexible, responsible, reliable, active listener, ready to help, encouraging others, respectful in attitude and actions, timely with communications, and committed to the mission at hand.
• Project management skills both as an individual and as a coordinator for projects where there are multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of software and technology used in office management, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint); databases and financial systems that manage membership, donations, recordkeeping; email management programs; telephones; copy equipment; website management; Google Docs; social media and preferably video slide production.
• Excellent written communication skills including proofreading, proper grammar, spelling, formatting, etc.
• High degree of organizational skills applied in detailed recordkeeping, scheduling, procedures, supply management, and shared spaces such as offices and storage.
• Basic knowledge of budgeting, financial statements, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, operate office equipment, stand, walk, sit, use close and distance vision, be outdoors, and be able to lift 20-30 lbs.

Experience and Education Required
Minimum of two years prior experience in operations management, administration, or human resources in a professional workplace environment. High school diploma or equivalent.
