Full-time Program Operations Coordinator

The Program Operations Coordinator position is a unique opportunity for a passionate individual to be part of the movement to fight climate change. This position is part of the Program Operations Team and is responsible for managing the administrative, communication, and project management needs of the Program Department.

This position will be based in Washington, DC and will report to the Program Operations Manager based in Washington, DC.

This role will be responsible for:

Operation Analyzing & Coordination - Analyze, communicate, and assist the POM in establishing, altering systems, protocols, and procedures for all of the Program staff to foster a more streamlined and productive department; Support Program Staff in properly following administrative procedures like reconciling funds, paying contractors, managing accounts, databases and other administrative tasks; Be available to fulfill assignments in the field, such as ship tour and action camp support; Work with operations teams in Development and Administration to provide organizational support and share organizational knowledge.
Global and Domestic Project Coordination – Mentor project leaders and campaign directors through financial processes laid out by Operations Management; Oversee logistics for priority project leaders and the relevant campaign directors coordinate across time zones.
Logistics and Communication - Create and execute weekly e-mail communications to the Department to provide information on meetings, travel, etc; Oversee logistics for trainings, retreats, and events across the Program department.
Minimum requirements include:

1-3 years of experience in social change or related organizations
1-2 years of experience in project management or in campaigning
2 years of experience understanding and working with project budgets and tracking systems
1-2 years of experience facilitating trainings
Ability to work independently and across cultures and time zones
Commitment to nonviolence as a means of making social change
Strong attention to detail with the ability to track and manage multiple projects at one time
The ability to manage up and manage across the organization
A highly motivated person, interested in working in a fast-paced, values-driven environment with the flexibility to do what’s needed to get the job done
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and facilitate the completion of large administrative projects in a timely manner, including meeting strict deadlines
Additional qualifications include, but are not limited to:

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Keen attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Asana, Zoom and Google Suite
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
Excellent judgment, discretion, and diplomacy
A high level of energy and enthusiasm
Experience working in an organization that relies on a supporter/volunteer base
