Full-time Director of Programs

at Special Kids Special Families in Colorado

Scope:
To provide the overall leadership, direction, and guidance to the Special Kids Special Families (SKSF) programs, including Adult Services, Child Care, Residential Services, Behavioral Health, and the Child Placement Agency. The position will work closely with the Executive Director to achieve the goals of the program and organization. Responsible for the direct supervision of Program Directors, and the indirect supervision of support and other staff.

Duties:
• Implement, review, and update the organization’s policies and procedures regarding each of the SKSF programs.
• Ensure that local, State and Federal regulations are followed and adhered to, including but not limited to; The Quality Standards for Child Care, The Colorado Rules and Regulations, Colorado office of Behavioral Health, Health Care Policy and Finance, Division of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and the Department of Public Health and Environment.
• Promote the expansion of the programs in serving clients and in developing services that respond to the evolving needs of the clients to provide stable, developing programs.
• Evaluate current program processes to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Work with the Executive Director and the Program Directors in defining and developing the program management policies and procedures and implementing the compliance of policies and procedures by the staff.
• Work with the Human Resource Department in the recruitment of qualified staff and in the ongoing evaluation of the staff, and collaborate to implement the HR personnel policies and procedures.
• Work with the Executive Director in the oversight of the program’s budget, being solution focused in balancing the budget. This includes implementing and monitoring of cost saving policies and development opportunities.
• Assist in the creation and implement an annual training and development plans.
• Support to develop and maintain cross-program communication and collaboration.
• Ensure safety and risk mitigation policies are in place and followed by staff and clients at all site locations.
• Prepare and submit monthly and ad hoc reports in a timely manner for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
• Work with the Executive Director to promote and build collaborative relationships with the local and State Human Service committees, organizations and coalitions connected or potentially connected to SKSF.
• Stay abreast of Regulations changes that could affect the different programs.
• Oversee growth of the programs, including cross referrals between the different services provided by SKSF.
• Utilize positive solution focused techniques with staff to build and maintain effective relationships with families – promoting and encouraging families to participate in activities and events that assist in building a strong support system for them.
• Implement regular staff meetings and encourage communication as a team with the staff.
• Work with the Executive Director and the grant development and fundraising staff to identify and grown possible program opportunities for growth and development.
• Assess the safety issues and work with the Admin team for the resolution of any maintenance/grounds repair needs, ensuring correction of problems in a timely manner; as well as any other safety issues.
• Facilitate the marketing of the programs by assuring program attendance at resource fairs, events and projects; and working with the marketing, fundraising staff.
• Manage the Client Referral system through HCPF.
• Coordinate with the Executive Director on short and long term strategy planning.
• Attend trainings and meetings as requested by the Executive Director.
• Work alongside Program Consultant on program development and regulations.






Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Colorado college or university; or,
• A master’s degree (Psychology, Counseling, MSW (Preferred))
• Licensed in the Behavior field (Preferred)
• 3 years of management experience; or,
• 5 years of management experience including Exempt and Non-Exempt Staff. (Preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
• High comfort level working with a diverse environment
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated experience working with government regulations and compliance with Medicaid waivers and Human Services.
• Clinical background; Experience working with DORA and HCPF.
• Demonstrated commitment in high professional ethical standards and in supporting a diverse work environment.
• Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and good driving record per SKSF standards.
• Must be able to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs. and be able to stand for long periods and move quickly.
SALARY: $60-65K/YR
