Manager, Backend Engineering

RE/MAX is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our Enterprise Data Services department, Seventy3, and lead a distributed team of talented engineers. Seventy3 is an essential team within REMAX, LLC that delivers critical data services and products to solutions that consumers, agents and brokers love using.

In this role you will guide and mentor other Software and DevOps Engineers, ensuring the high level of productivity and engagement. Success in this role is ensuring the Seventy3 platform is optimized for delivering critical data in a high-availability, real time environment through APIs, within an enterprise micro-services architecture. You will work closely with the Product Management, Quality Engineering, DevOps, and Data Engineering teams to understand the product vision, requirements and build new features and applications that support the health and growth of one of the largest real estate companies in the world.
Essential Duties:

Lead software and devOps engineers to deliver features for multiple products
Support multiple enterprise products from different RE/MAX brands, and verticals
Collaborate and mentor other software engineers
Actively work to build and maintain a positive team culture
Constantly and effectively communicate across the company and its users
Find creative solutions, work diligently, and address changes with confidence
Facilitate architectural discussions
Develop KPI (Key Performance indicators) for Engineering teams
Monitor, measure, and report on software products and software delivery
Resolve issues quickly, and effectively
Define the software development standards and metrics that will be used to evaluate the software development processes in the company
Determine tools, processes, and flows to continuously improve development

Required Qualifications & Skills:

5+ years as a Software Engineering Manager working with high performing teams
8+ years as a Software Engineer (Node.js, Go, GraphQL, CICD, AWS)
Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies (Jira)
Strong understanding of software development and design patterns
Strong understanding of AWS Infrastructure
Familiar with monitoring and testing tools
Deep hands-on technical expertise
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Team-focused, Self-directed, Flexible
Good time-management and project management skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Strong documentation and communication skills (creating and socializing standards)

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

CI/CD using GitLab (Github)
Experience with deploying code multiple times a day
SQL/NoSQL Queries (Elasticsearch / RDBMS)
Familiar with several different automation frameworks
Familiarity with advanced analytics / AI, ML
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or Technology
Past experience in the residential real estate industry considered highly valuable, but not required

Hire Range/Rate:

$140,000 - $150,000

Actual compensation offered to candidate will be finalized at offer and may be above or below the posted range due to skill level, experience, industry specific knowledge, education/certifications, or geographic location. The offer rate represents one component of the RE/MAX Holdings total compensation package. Employees will also receive a number of benefits as listed below. Other compensation for this position may include bonus eligibility.
