Job Description
PeopleReady ofSouth Gate has an immediate opening forCooks in Los Angeles, CA. Hillcrest Country Club Cooks ensure quality product and service in each of its 5 restaurants plus an employee cafeteria. From the pool and courtside cafes, to the formal dining room, grill room and dining patio, we depend on skilled Pantry Cooks, Prep Cooks, Line Cooks, and Pastry Cooks, working as a team under the leadership of our executive chefs, to ensure that HCC is the dining destination of choice for our members and their guests, both for restaurant dining and our many private banquet events.
Shift Timing - 2nd Shift (Evening), 3rd Shift (Night)
Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing and cooking food according to recipes
• Observing and testing foods to determine if they are cooked sufficiently
• Storing food at correct temperatures in order to ensure freshness
• Utilizing blenders, cutlery, and ovens to prepare food
• Making sure area is clean and all quality and sanitation standards are met, including cold and hot storage
• Certified food handlers, familiar with all the requirements of health department sanitation standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum one year experience as a cook
• Good knife skills and a deep knowledge of food preparation
• Possess a valid food handler's card or ServSafe certification - our branch will help provide this training
• Able to work all areas of the kitchen.
• Position requires at least 2 years previous cooking experience in a high-volume operation, current Food Handler
• Certification and the ability to communicate effectively in English, bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
• Drug screen required
• Background Check Required
