Full-time Project Manager, Immigration

Position Description: 

The Project Manager is a high-level project management and administrative support position that closely collaborates with internal Community Change teams to contribute to the goals of the organization. The position will provide day-to-day executive-level project management support to the Immigration team, and coordinate and supplement the administrative support for the senior campaign staff including budget management, scheduling, and meeting planning. The Project Manager will work with a wide array of teams throughout the organization to advance organizational deliverables. This position will have a lead role in promoting a professional, organized, and collaborative atmosphere internally and with partner groups.

A portion of time will be spent working with Community Change's sister organization, Community Change Action.


Principal Responsibilities:  

Provide executive level project management support to the Immigration team to ensure the team runs smoothly and progress is constantly made to meet the team’s commitments.
Coordinate internal and external communications regarding team’s initiatives between various key decision makers and stakeholders.
Help develop agendas and implement initiatives to advance the team’s goals.
Inform the design and implementation of team meetings and annual convening.
Provide leadership and as needed, assistance to administrative staff within the meet all of the event logistics planning, note taking, research, filing, copying, mailing, and material preparation needs of the team.
Represent Community Change in a professional manner with members and staff of Community Change partners, allies, and funders.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications: 

Minimum 5 years of experience in executive support, administration and/or project management.
Experience with budget management.
Previous work in a non-profit or campaign setting.
Experienced in event planning and travel logistics.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Knowledge of remote-first organizational culture and systems.
Comfortable using our remote work tools including Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, and Slack
Strong writing skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
Attention to detail.
Proven record of reliability and timeliness.
Must demonstrate flexibility and be able to work well under pressure.
Ability to record and transcribe notes.
Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of the organization.
Must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely and in a timely manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality.

This position report to: Interim Director of Immigration and Power Building


Classification: Community Change recognizes a staff bargaining unit affiliated with IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is included in Community Change's bargaining unit and covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

COVID-19 Requirements: Community Change requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (within six weeks after the start of employment) unless a medical or religious exemption or other exemption allowed under applicable law is requested and approved. All offers of employment are contingent on compliance with this requirement. An employee will be considered fully vaccinated once (i) two weeks have elapsed since after the employee has received the final dose of a primary COVID vaccine series (e.g., two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, two doses of the Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine) and (ii) the employee has received any booster vaccine dose currently recommended by the CDC for those in the employee’s age group. Should the CDC subsequently recommend additional boosters or should an employee otherwise become newly subject to a CDC booster recommendation, an employee shall continue to be considered fully vaccinated if the employee gets the additional booster within one month of the change.


Travel Requirements: 10% of time estimated (pandemic permitting and in line with overall Community Change staff guidance)

Salary & benefits: $60,000 - $70,000 annual salary range. Community Change also offers an excellent benefits package, which includes 4 weeks of annual paid vacation; additional paid holiday leave between December 24 and January 1; 8% employer contribution to retirement account after six months of employment (and 3% employer contribution for the first 6 months); and a choice of generous health insurance plans.
