Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
1. In the event of a threat of serious bodily injury or death, the armed Lead Supervisor’s role is to respond with appropriate force necessary to stop the threat.
2. Supervises both the entry level security staff along with the security shift supervisors.
3. Expected to learn the various aspects of the Security Manager’s job duties and be able to perform these duties at a high level in the Security Manager’s absence.
4. Delegates various responsibilities such as staff scheduling etc. to the other shift supervisors.
5. Performs administrative responsibilities regarding security staff attendance and payroll.
6. Responds to emergency situations such as fires, accidents, injuries and disturbances in the workplace.
7. Updates and maintains Win DSX access control database.
8. Escorts terminated and/or troublesome employees off company premises.
9. Reviews security staff daily reports, hours worked logs, and all other security reports.
10.Coordinates all aspects of training for the security staff members.
11.Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company.
12.Maintains regular, predictable attendance.
13.Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice.
14.Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors.

Marginal Functions
1. May be required to perform any of the above functions at any of the company locations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• The ability to communicate and understand English in either written form or verbally.
• Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess exceptional ability to exercise good judgment and make responsible decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure with a large amount of independence.
• On call 24 hours a day. (excludes vacation or approved time off)
• CPR certified.
• Understand laws regarding the use of force.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Knowledgeable of Nebraska Law and Omaha city ordinances applicable to company property and employees.
• Detail oriented, organized and possess excellent follow through skills Education
• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
• Experience in the areas of security, law enforcement or military background required. Law Enforcement Certified Required at State Federal or Local Level or Military Police

Other Qualifications and Physical Requirements
• Must be in sufficient physical condition to perform duties as assigned
• Must be able to physically control persons by using appropriate and necessary force
• Must be alert and ready to deal with security emergencies
• Specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to hear
• Must be able to walk frequently, use elevators and climb open grate stairways
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts with short notice
• A valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with OTC standards is required for operation of company vehicles.
• Required to pass annual handgun efficiency certification
• Possess State of Nebraska Concealed Carry Permit
