Job Description
People Ready, North Charleston has an open position at a scrap yard facility in Huger, SC. We are looking for associates experienced with operating a torch cutter, cutting large pieces of steel into smaller for transport.Shifts are 12-hour days that can extend up to 16hrs in a day. This is a long-term position and temp to perm for the right fit!

Note - Pay rate for this job is $17.50/Hour

Shift timing - All Available

Responsibilities:

•
Cutting flattened pieces of steel into smaller manageable pieces for transport

• Associate will be working outdoors in the elements at times as well
• Ensure you conduct yourself in a safe manor keeping your work area clean

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively
• Facility is not air-conditioned, and full PPE is required, including use of respirator.
• Submit to a drug screening (hair Follicle screening)
• Ability to work the entire shift
• Reliable transportation
• Previous experience operating a torch cutter
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold areas
• Background check and Drug screen required.
• Hair Follicle required.
