DIRECTOR, Vandergrift Public Library

28-35 Hours Weekly

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
• 2 years of college (B.A. or B.S. preferred), 9 library science credits (must be obtained within 18 months of hiring if degree is not in library science)
• Previous library experience
• Grant writing experience
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
• Current Pennsylvania and FBI clearances

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Oversight of library budget and finances
• Payroll
• Hiring, training, scheduling and supervising staff
• Grant writing, publicity, and donor relations
• Fundraising
• Preparing reports and presentations
• Collection development and maintenance
• Adherence to state, county and local requirements
• Liaising with the library board of trustees, community officials, municipalities and local groups in planning library services and programs
• Supervising the maintenance of all library facilities and equipment
• Engaging in public outreach to bring groups to the library as well as to bring the library to outside groups
• Attracting and scheduling volunteers
• Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL ASSETS:
• Familiarity with social media and digital technology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Passion for, and commitment to, libraries
