at Jobisite in New York

Private ESL academy for adult international students seeks experienced ESL/ESOL instructors for our Standard English program.
Starting Date: August 22nd/ August 27th, 2022
Schedules:
1. Morning Classes (14-18 hours)
M-Th 10:00-1:30
F 10:00-2:00 (optional/ as needed)
2. Weekend Classes (18 hours)
Sat + Sun 9:00-6:00
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, at least two years of experience teaching English to adults, and a TEFL certificate (such as CELTA) or a Master's Degree in a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a New York private career school teaching license, though we can arrange one for the right candidate. In addition, candidates must be comfortable teaching online classes using Zoom, Google Suite, and various digital materials.

Instructors here speak a variety of languages, have taught in dozens of different countries, and have (or are earning) advanced degrees in a variety of fields. Our students are dedicated and motivated adult professionals, artists, travelers, and academics. Instructors have the opportunity to get involved in school activities and take on additional teaching positions as needed including private lessons and substituting.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
Classes are currently running on a hybrid schedule (partially online/ partially in-person). Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach on-site.

Qualifications and Licensing Requirements

At a minimum, faculty members must have:
A bachelor’s degree
A NYS Department of Education License (BPSS; can be acquired once hired if candidate meets other requirements)
Two years teaching experience.
TEFL/ TESOL certification
Preferred qualifications:
A master’s in TESOL, education, applied linguistics, or related field
A teaching certificate from a reputable institution such as Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL
