Assistant Controller

at Jobisite in Ohio

Responsibilities

 Manage and support the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual financial closings
 Analysis of monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, variances to forecast, and reconciliation of various accounts, fixed asset administration and various employee benefit accounting.
 Oversight of standard costing, including in transit and product receipts, with proper recording of vendor costs, customs and freight
 Assist with sales tax compliance as needed for various state reporting requirements
 Maintain reconciliations with documentation
 Preparation of audit work for year-end audits with outside auditors and bank auditors
 Participate in annual budget preparation
 Ensure appropriate cross training throughout department
 Assist with special projects as requested
 Understands business implications and decisions, display orientation to profitability
 Contribute to profit and revenue by developing measures and monitoring performance vs monthly budget

Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
 MBA or CPA or work towards the designation a plus
 7+ years progressive experience in accounting and/or finance
 Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation and GAAP
 Experience in executing compilation, review, and audit engagements
 Ability to execute multiple projects and deadlines
 Strong attention to detail and accuracy
 Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently
 Self-starter who can work independently as well as with others on a team
