Full-time HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR

Responsible for leading the day- to- day operations of the Human Resources Department, Employee Health and Volunteer Services at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia to include the associated Medical Group. Is a member of the leadership team at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Reports to the SVP, HR & Chief Human Engagement Officer with a dotted line reporting relationship to the CEO for St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Has 6 direct and 41 indirect reports.

Plans, coordinates and administers human resource strategic plans for the site.
Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the HR Department for the Hospital and the Medical Group.
Develops, communicates and administers policies and procedures.
Provides employee and labor relations support throughout the entity.
Facilitates leadership training and other identified training for employees and leadership.
Oversees Employee Health and Volunteer Services for the entity.
Insures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws as well as the associated collective bargaining agreements.
Coaches, manages, develops and supports direct and indirect reports.
Recruitment and onboarding is handled by Corporate HR but provides onsite support as needed.
Retention focused by keeping a pulse on the turnover by performing analyses on entity turnover by position, department and leader.
Conducts focus groups and investigations to determine root causes of turnover.
Works with key stakeholders to implement retention plans.

Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience.
Experience as an HR Director.
Strong experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Strong experience fostering collaborative working relationships while being able to hold people accountable to process, policy and procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong employee and labor relations experience .
Strong leadership skills.
Hands on leadership style.
Balanced approach between the needs of employees and the needs of the organization.
Utilizes metrics to showcase performance of the department, influence decisions and support recommendations.
Experience creating an HR department that is seen as welcoming, approachable, available and service oriented.
Demonstrated experience championing and supporting DEI initiatives.
Is resilient and possesses managerial courage.
