Waikiki Health is recruiting for a full time HIV/STI Tester & Counselor. The HIV/STI Tester and Counselor provides pre- and post-test counseling for HIV, Hepatitis C, and/or Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) screening, collects accurate demographic information, conducts behavioral risk assessments, and documents the appropriate data on patients seeking health and testing services. The position makes appropriate referrals/link to care within Waikiki Health and/or other community health services and/or providers. Must have strong patient service, writing and verbal communication, multitasking and organizational skills. The State Department of Health’s Outreach Testing Linkage (OTL) and on-site training are provided. Assist with HIV Program related tasks as assigned.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Provide rapid HIV/Hepatitis C and urine-based gonorrhea and chlamydia tests, pre- and post-testing counseling, and referrals in compliance with standards of Waikiki Health, the State of Hawaii Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control.

- Maintain and always uphold patient privacy and confidentiality.

- Create and coordinate monthly rapid testing schedule with Patient Service Representatives and the Call Center.

- Conducts adequate quality control completion/logging for internal lab purposes.

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Valid Hawaii State Driver’s License with 5-year history loss report.

- Phlebotomy trained or willing to be trained.

- CPR/AED/First Aid Certified or willing to be certified.

- Must have the ability to correspond through email, refer to online schedules and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
