Assistant for Head of Finance

We are an established Industrial Flooring company based out of Tracy, CA. We have an immediate opening for an Assistant to the Head of Finance role in our company. We provide top-quality industrial flooring specializing in resinous flooring, coatings, epoxy, concrete staining, polishing, etc.
We are looking for a “hands-on” finance assistant to support our Head of Finance. The responsibilities of a finance assistant include processing payments, updating financial records, and managing invoices, reconciliations, filing, and record keeping.
To be successful as a finance assistant, you should have strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, good organizational skills, and working knowledge of accounting software. Ultimately, a top-notch finance assistant should have integrity, excellent mathematical and communication skills, and an understanding of data privacy standards.
Finance Assistant Responsibilities:
A/P, A/R, journal entry functions
A/R collections
Collecting and reviewing data for reporting purposes
Reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts
Reporting discrepancies
Preparing payroll for employees.
Suggesting improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and reduction of costs
Finance Assistant Requirements:
Working, hands-on knowledge of accounting and/or full charge bookkeeping for at least 5 years or accounting degree with 2 years of working experience
Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and QuickBooks Desktop software.
Great organizational skills.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Detail and service-oriented.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to review the work of others in the department and locate errors
Willingness and drive to learn and wear different “hats” as needed
Additional Skills Preferred but not Required:
Experience in the Construction Industry helpful
Prevailing wage payroll a plus
Current Human Resources-related experience is a definite plus.
