Our client, NYMS Services, is a small family-run organisation that owns a 60-bed Residential Care Home in Glossop, providing care and support for vulnerable adults who require support around Dementia and Mental Health.

You will be a qualified, competent and experienced Care Home Business Manager to work alongside the Provider and the Registered Manager to lead the team to deliver high-quality care services for residents and meet CQC compliance - KLOES.



Key Skills

Minimum of 2 years experience as a Registered Manager /Turn Around Manager or as a Senior Manager within a residential care home or a nursing home.

Effective leadership skills with strong communication skills to develop a high-performing team.

Experience in leading and generating successful outcomes during a range of inspections such as CQC, Local Authority etc.

Proven track record in staff management including change management, line management and performance management

Experience in income maximisation; maintaining high levels of occupancy and experience of negotiating appropriate levels of fees to meet the individual needs of the users.

Able to manage budgets and provide reports

Ability to complete and analyse audits and implement actions to address any audits/recurring themes.

Knowledge of H&S management within a care home setting

Knowledge and understanding of the Care Act and experience in managing and investigating safeguarding cases within a care home setting.



Responsibilities are:

The Care Home Business Manager is responsible for meeting the National Minimum Standards, and complying with the Care Home Regulations, CQCs KLOE standards and all relevant legislative requirements alongside the Registered Manager.

To provide leadership support for the Workforce; create an open, positive and inclusive culture with a focus on performance management to develop a high-performing team.

To provide line management support for the Registered Manager, Heads of Services and the Care Team, with the Care Managers and the Registered Manager.

Responsible for ensuring that the Service is compliant with CQC – KLOEs, and meets the national minimum standards and other legislative requirements such as H&S and Fire safety.

To ensure that our client care home auditing system is implemented, monitored and reviewed within the Home, and appropriate action is taken in response to allocated audits and to provide validation.

Responsible for income maximisation through maintaining steady levels of occupancy and effective management of budgets.

Responsible for rota management and maintaining safer staffing levels as agreed in the dependency tool.

To take on the lead role responsibility for safeguarding; ensure safeguarding is at the heart of service delivery, ensure staff are skilled, and safeguarding incidents are managed effectively to include investigation and learning.

Act as an ambassador for the Home by establishing and maintaining good relationships with all visitors, prospective service users and professional or allied personnel.

Responsible for ensuring that the Home is compliant regarding Health and Safety and Fire Safety.
