Full-time VAVE Engineer

at Jobisite in Michigan

Position Overview:

• The primary responsibility to lead VAVE coordination alongside Subject Matter Experts, Caresoft CFT to improve Customer product cost through cost out recommendations / engineering change recommendations on Target Cluster / ‘s.
• The role’s focus will be on building and maintaining pipeline of cost out ideas for Target Cluster / ‘s, while ensuring each idea is being rationalized in a timely manner.
• Work with larger Caresoft Competency teams Globally (Mechanical & Electrical engineering teams, manufacturing / Industrial engineering) to gain insight to cost opportunities which may be applied to customer products / rationalize existing opportunities by coordinating cost / time save information
• Lead management of cross functional VAVE events / Review sessions to Report out potential, actionable changes to design, material selection, etc. that lead to cost improvements through the engineering process changes at customer end.
• Candidate to have drive, enthusiasm and strong practical engineering experience & technical ability to Coordinate VAVE Analysis
• This position will work as part of the North America VAVE team in alignment with the overall Operations strategy of Digital Twin Benchmarking of Caresoft.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 5 years work experience in engineering or a manufacturing environment, with preferred 3 years of that in Automotive Industry or its eco system
Position Criteria:
• Capable of conducting technical data mining, data analysis and rationalization in on of the following product design competencies;
o Chassis
o Interiors
o Body structures
o Powertrain
• Demonstrated ability to interface and work with CFT to achieve VAVE cost improvements
• Confident working with senior functional leaders, Subject Matter experts / Industry veterans throughout the organization.
• Understanding of engineering concepts and ability to read engineering documented drawings
• Successful candidate will have knowledge of manufacturing processes such as material management, manufacturing operations, cost accounting, quality processes and procedures, project management and Lean manufacturing
• Proficiency with many application software packages such MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, CAD design, CAE and statistical analysis is required
• Good Communication, presentation, interpersonal and professional presence with Internal/external customers
• Having a strong personality and Ability to question the status quo and to be open minded and receptive to change
• A highly entrepreneurial sense of urgency along with a passion for the continuous improvement is desirable
• Ability to lead a cross functional team in a group setting is a must
• Must achieve results through others not directly in reporting structure.
• Ability to explain and train others on VAVE concepts
• Must be a self-starter and able to successfully work independently
