Full-time Project Manager

This project management role is to support Togetherasone organisation to deliver a Shona Culture and Traditional Heritage project of Zimbabwe community living in Skelmersdale in Lancashire and Liverpool.

Job Features
The successful candidate will:
• Work with the trustees, volunteers, and different partners to support the delivery and management of the heritage activities related to the Shona Culture and Traditional Heritage project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The postholder will manage the project, deliver all its activities: recruit and manage volunteers for the project, keep records related to all activities, purchase equipment, monitor activities, liaise with the evaluator, manage the project finances, and produce all the relevant reports. The postholder will be accountable to the trustees through the Chair of Togetherasone and its Steering meetings.

• Liaise with all the relevant partners in this project: Lancashire Archives, Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Centre project support, local Primary School, local Church Zimbabwe community representatives and National Lottery Heritage Fund Investment Manager.
• Be responsible for all the tasks of the project and ensure a roll out of activities for the achievement of project goals.
• Be proactive, forward thinking, comfortable with change and enthusiastic to share the project management skills with the trustees.
• Take pride in the quality and accuracy of the work, have a strong command of English and be able to demonstrate outstanding implementation and attention to detail.
• Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
• Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
• Track project costs in order to meet budget
• Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
• Provide verbaly monthly project report and quartly written report to updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
• Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
• Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
• Monitor progress and adjust as needed
• Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

Personal Specification
 Previous experience of working with black African immigrant, refugees and asylum seekers organisation and speaking Shona language will be an advantage.

 Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
 Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle, ideally heritage projects
 In addition, a good working knowledge of a range of Microsoft systems is vital.
