Full-time Unit Manager

NYMS Services have a fantastic opportunity for a Unit Manager at the Pennine Care Centre.

About us:

NYMS services are a small family run organisation who own the Pennine Care Centre. Pennine Care Centre is a 60 bed Residential Care home providing accommodation and care for vulnerable adults who require support around Dementia and Mental Health.

There is a Business Manager, Registered Manager and two care managers in post to supervise carers and administer medication. We are keen to appoint a unit manager with a focus to enhance care delivery and to upskill care managers across two units.

Position: Unit Manager, with potential to progress within a growing organisation.

Full Time Post 40 hours

Access to professional training on site from the inhouse contracted trainer and care home consultant.

Health and Social Care level 5 and beyond.

subject to satisfactory probationary period and availability.


Key Tasks:

To support the Management teamin providing leadership to the administration, care, catering, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance functions of the service.

To be in-charge of the day to day runningin particular to residents safety and wellbeing.

To be responsible for the day-to-day Compliance Activities; ensure daily records, care plan updates, MAR charts are completed to the required standard.

To support with compliance in conducting regular audits; Care Plan Audits, Meds audit, Infection Prevention Control audits, Safeguarding & Accidents and H&S Audits.

To provide line management support for some posts.

To provide support on the delivery of care-to-Care Managers and carers and subject to need ancillary staff.

To ensure safeguarding is at the heart of service delivery; provide support in preventing and managing incidents and accidents, escalating reports and completing actions.

To work with the management team and undertake care duties when required to cover staff absences.

To provide out of hours support

The role may involve working some weekends and some night shifts.




Skills, Knowledge&Qualifications



Essential Criteria:

Experience of working as a Team Leader or a Deputy Manager within a care home setting.

The ability to manage staff and compliance activities.

The knowledge and ability to meet the safety and wellbeing for residents.

Appropriate Professional Qualification

The ability to develop person centred care plans and the completion of incident and accident reports.



DesiredCriteria:

Experience of Managing a care home.

Qualified to an NVQ Level 5 or Health and Social Care Level 5

Immediately Available Candidates are ideal



Salary negotiable depending on experience
