Job Description: Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Architect

Position Overview: The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Architect is a key technical role responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust and efficient MES solutions that optimize Automotive manufacturing processes and drive operational excellence. The MES Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, software developers, project managers, and stakeholders, to create MES solutions that align with the organization's business objectives and technological strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design:
Collaborate with process engineers and stakeholders to understand manufacturing processes, data flows, and operational requirements.
Design end-to-end MES solutions that integrate with enterprise systems, equipment, and control systems while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Develop architectural models, diagrams, and documentation to effectively communicate design concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
System Integration:
Identify integration points between MES and SAP S4HANA system.
Define data exchange mechanisms and APIs to ensure seamless communication and data consistency across systems.
Provide guidance and oversight to development teams during the implementation of integration components.
Customization and Configuration:
Identify opportunities for MES customization based on specific manufacturing needs and industry requirements.
Define configuration options and parameters that allow MES solutions to adapt to varying production scenarios.
Work with developers to implement custom functionality while minimizing the impact on the overall architecture.
Performance Optimization:
Collaborate with performance engineers to identify and address bottlenecks in the MES architecture.
Analyze system performance metrics and recommend improvements to ensure optimal system responsiveness and scalability.
Change Management:
Assist in change management processes by assessing the impact of proposed changes to the MES architecture.
Develop strategies for implementing updates, patches, and upgrades while minimizing disruptions to ongoing operations.
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural guidelines and best practices.
Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in MES and manufacturing automation to drive innovation within the organization.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (10+ years) designing and implementing MES solutions for complex manufacturing environments that integrate with SAP S4HANA system.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and industry standards.
Proficiency in Rockwell Production Center MES platform and it's integration with SAP S/4HANA.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
