JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Physician will be responsible for administering care to adult patients. Primary clinical responsibilities will include the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients. Requesting care for acute issues which may include screening for all chronic diseases. The physician will also supervise mid-level providers (Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants) involved in the care of adult patients.

A board-certified physician who provides clinical care to adults, with a focus on infectious diseases.

The essential functions of this role include:
- Conducting health assessments, from focused to comprehensive, to identify immediate needs and referral requirements for long-term management.
- Performing physical examinations and documenting health history.
- Collaborating with colleagues, specialists, and other health professionals as needed.
- Ordering diagnostic tests and procedures to support therapy.
- Collecting specimens for common analyses and cultures.
- Interpreting health data, making diagnoses, and formulating treatment plans.
- Providing patient education on acute needs and evaluation opportunities.
- Supervising mid-level providers, such as Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants.
- Educating patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Promoting effective teamwork and ensuring timely, efficient care and excellent customer service.
- Adhering to safety protocols and training, maintaining equipment, and following exposure control plans.
- Participating in environmental audits and implementing control measures.
- Demonstrating knowledge of protective barrier equipment and ensuring a safe environment.
- Attending annual education programs.
- Performing other assigned duties as necessary.


Education & Training Requirements
- Medical Doctorate with current licensure in the State of Texas

Work Experience Requirement
- Previous experience in a community healthcare setting.
