HCA Solutions is seeking a qualified Dental Hygienist for Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Pensacola!

Work hours will normally be between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The facility is expected to require forty (40) hours per week.

Due to the nature of the correctional setting, delays in performance of work may be experienced. Such delays may include, but are not limited to inclement weather, electrical or mechanical problems, or other security matters. When contractorÂ’s employees report to the institution but are unable to perform services due to such delays, the contractor will be paid for one session. Normally, any remaining sessions for that day will be suspended and the contractor will be free to leave, and the contractor will not be paid for the remaining unperformed sessions. However, if the institution requests that the contractor remain at the institution for eventual performance, the contractor shall be paid for such sessions. If the contractor fails to provide coverage, the Government may seek contractual remedy.

Description of Duties

The contractorÂ’s employee will provide Dental Hygienist services in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Dental Hygiene, and in compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations, including the Joint Commission (JC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions. These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed by a physician on staff at the institution. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designated COR.

The employee will be responsible for the following Dental Hygiene services, which include, but are not limited to, the items listed below:

Provide dental prophylaxis on inmate who are referred by the dental staff

Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient

Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis

Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist

Perform sterilization of dental instruments as well as record keeping associated with this task, and perform clinical operatory disinfection

Provide chair side clinical assistance to the Dentist as needed

Perform electronic scheduling of patients for dental prophylaxis, and general clerical duties normally performed in a dental office

Utilize the electronic medical record (BEMR) to document all patient encounters, modify waiting lists, run rosters, etc.

Education and Experience

Must be licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Florida and must submit photocopies of their license and/or board certification to the institution after award.

The contractorÂ’s employee must be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

The individual performing the services must also maintain a current radiology certification to perform dental x-rays.

Minimum one year of experience as a Dental Hygienist.

2-Step TB Screening, completed within the last year
