Federated Hermes, Inc., a global leader in active, responsible investing, is seeking a Financial Analyst Intermediary Compensation to join our Intermediary Compensation department based at our Warrendale, Pennsylvania office.
What Youll Do
As a Financial Analyst Intermediary Compensation, you will be responsible for forecasting trailer expenses and compiling/analyzing trailer payment data for Federated Hermes and the Funds and for compiling/analyzing trailer payment data to be reported to the Funds Board of Directors as well as internal and external customers.
Accurals/Projections/Analysis
Compute trailer expense projections for Federated Hermes and the Funds by integrating actual and anticipated payment data into the calculation.
Analyze trailer payments to determine the cause of variations from prior distribution cycles and recommend/apply adjustments to future projections.
Collaborate with internal business areas to ensure that applicable expense accruals are kept current and accurate, to ensure resolution of problems and respond questions/inquires as well as enhance projection/analysis workflows and reporting.
Assess client and fund events to ensure inclusion in expense projections.
Anticipate trends that may impact the accuracy of expense projections and adjust as necessary.
Determine the appropriate attributes and data structures required to support the calculation and analysis of expenses/accruals.
Document all information sources, assumptions, and analytics utilized in the production of the analysis and assess data accuracy.
Reporting
Compile, validate, and distribute trailer expense projection and analysis as well as payment reporting.
Compile and disseminate trailer payment data for inclusion in reporting to the Funds and Federated Investors Trust Companys Board of Directors.
Compile and disseminate reporting summarizing payments resulting from retroactive agreements and operational errors as applicable.
Support Application & Maintenance
Develop and maintain support applications to be used in the calculation, analysis and reporting of corporate/fund/trailer expenses.
Establish and maintain processes, reporting mechanisms and workflows and ensure the integrity of the data produced from the applications.
Document all information sources, assumptions, and analytics used in the development and maintenance of applications.
Additional Responsibilities
Serve as a technical experience for the department and assist staff in understanding internal and external development as they may impact workflows.
Recommend business and systems changes to management that will improve operations, reduce costs, and risk exposure.
Manager projects that specifically impact financial analysis activities for the department.
Evaluate the preparation of invoices for reconciliation.
The Expertise We are Looking For
Associates degree required; Bachelor degree in accounting/finance or mathematics preferred.
3 years of business experience in back/middle office operational support experience required.
Financial Analysis and reporting experience preferred.
Accounts payable experience preferred.
Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Excel (V-Lookups, pivot tables and if statements).
Knowledge of the mutual fund industry preferred.
