JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for driving a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures to transport products from customer locations to our Rush City facility. This position will work closely with the shipping and receiving department to ensure inventory accuracy.

When not driving, this position will work in our warehouse receiving, sorting, picking and/or prepping for sale computer equipment and other electronic devices. Duties may also involve testing the functionality of such devices and documenting equipment information and specifications.

Essential Functions

As the Truck Driver/Material Handler this position is responsible and accountable for the following essential functions:

1. Performs daily truck safety checks and schedules truck maintenance as needed
2. Operates the company truck to transport items to and from specific destinations
3. Maintains communication with Client Service Manager to receive daily delivery and pick-up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick-up.
4. Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of items to ensure timely service
5. Loads, secures, and unloads items
6. Completes driver mileage logs
7. Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials, including loading the truck in a manner to minimize load movement
8. Maintains the cleanliness and fuel levels in the company truck
9. Communicates information regarding delays and discrepancies immediately to the Client Service Manager and the Operations Manager
10. Unload all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection+; ensures receiving reports accurately. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Handles the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry. Is accountable for all movement of material ensuring that it is done efficiently, effectively and in a safe manner.
11. Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.


Travel

The position may require travel, including some weekends and overnights depending on the location and route. Travel could comprise approximately 1 week per month.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Must be able to sit for long periods of time, when driving truck
· Must be able to use a pallet jack and/or forklift in a safe manner
· Must be able to stand on your feet for entire shift, when working in the tech center
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
· Must be reliable, punctual and detail oriented
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed, to ensure our customer needs are met. This also may include some weekend travel out of state
